Itinerary in Mongolia, day by day.

Day 1. Arrival to Ulan-Bator 
Meeting at the airport and transfert to Gachuurt. Visit our small village. Reste and walking along the banks of the River Tuul. Full pension. Night in yurt. Hot water, shower, wc. 
 
Day 2. Flight to Ulgii 
Transfer to the airport to catch the flight to Ulgii city, the capital of the Bayan Ulgii province, inhabited by Kazakhs. Meeting with your guide, transfer to the guesthouse, overnight in Kazakh felt yurt or house. Visit the local museum of Ulgii town with comprehensive information about flora and fauna of Bayan Ulgii aimag as well as Kazakh culture and customs. Kazakhs are Muslims and they have nomadic mode of life.

Day 3. Departure to Altai Tavan Bogd 
5-6 hours drive in 4x4 minivan (Fourgons) 170 km to the north-west, towards the mountain Shiveet Hairkhan Uul, here we can see petro glyphs (rock printings) of the Bronze Age, ancient tombs of Huns and Turkic stone statues. Splendid views of Altai Tavan Bogd from the Tsagaan Gol River valley. At the end of the afternoon we will arrive to the nomadic camp of the mount Shiveet Hairhan. Touvan nomads live in this solemn place. Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Days 4-7. Altai Tavan Bogd 
We will pack our camels with all staff, and we will star tour hiking. 35 km towards Potanin’s glacier (20 km long). Altidude: from 2300 to 3000 m above sea level. We will pitch our bivouac on the edge of the glacier. Tavan Bogd means “The Holy Five”, referring to the peaks of Huiten (4374m and the highest), Tavan Bogd, Malchin, Burget and Nairamdal. We will ascend the Malchin peak, which is non-technical (4005 m). Stunning views from this summit to the entire Altai Tavan Bogd range, including Russian and Chinese sides. This is a frontier of three countries... Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Day 8. Altai Tavan Bogd 
We will hike back from the glacier along the Tsaagan River (White River, for the presence of ice particles) to the mount Shiveet Hairhan. Meeting Touvan nomads, enjoying their hospitality in yurt. This is a small Turkic speaking ethnic minority. They still have preserved the ancestral rites of shamanisme. Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Days 9-10. Altai Mountain Crossing 
We will take two days to cross Altai Mountains (32 km). The differences in elevation are significant; the highest pass we will take, is at 3600 m altitude. Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Day 11. Nogoon Nuur – Green Lake 
Descending a beautiful valley, we will arrive to the Green Lake - Nogoon Nuur. This is a pristine area with a small lake surrounded by larch forest. Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Days 12-14. Syrgaali 
Near the Chinese border that sets on the crests of the snow-capped chain, two big lakes, Hoton Nuur and Hurgan Nuur, are located in the great volcanic landscape. In summer, many nomadic families with their herd set their camps on the banks of two lakes; they come from different remote parts of Bayan-Olgii. The great River Khovd flows out from these lakes. Local name of this region is Syrgaali. Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Days 15-16. Dayan and Jolt 
Full day of hiking, then we will arrive to the Lake Dayan Nuur, another pearl of the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. We will spend two nights on the borders of the lake. Excellent fishing.... Meals cooked by our cook, overnight in tent.

Day 17. Drive to Ulgii 
5-6 hours of driving. Arrival to Ulgii city, rest in the guesthouse. Farewell diner, Kazakh music concert. 
 
Day 18. Flight Ulgii-UB 
Transfer to the airport. Flight Ulgii-UB. Transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon in UB. Overnight in the hotel.  
 
Day 19. Ulan-Bator 
Free time in Ulan-Bator. Overnight in the hotel.  
 
Day 20. Departure from de Mongolia 
Transfer to the airport. International flight.
