Itinerary in Mongolia, day by day

Day 1. Arrival in Ulan-Bator (UB) 
Meeting at the airport/railway station and transfer to UB, overnight in hotel.  
Visit of the Mongolian capital, rest and free time.

Day 2. Flight to Ulgii 
Transfer to the airport to catch the flight to Ulgii city, the capital of the Bayan Ulgii province, inhabited by Kazakhs. Meeting with your guide, transfer to the guesthouse, overnight in Kazakh felt ger or house.Visit the local museum of Ulgii town with comprehensive information about flora and fauna of Bayan Ulgii aimag as well as Kazakh culture and customs. Kazakhs are Muslims, they have also nomadic mode of life.

Day 3-4. Hatuu Valley 
After one and half hour drive, we will come to the Kazakh family and meet our horsemen. This place is called Hatuu, which means “hard”. This valley has many archeological sites, mainly resuming to rock printings /snowman’s carving/ and ancient graves (over 5000 years old). Snow capped mountains of valley make many spring waters and small lakes with crystal clear water.

Day 5. Khongor Olon 
We will pitch camp just on the north-west side of Tsambagarav Uul (an isolated, one of the highest snowcapped mountains, 4208m).The place called “Khongor Olon”. There are stunning sunsets and sunrises and good fishing for grayling.

Day 6-8. Horse riding in the National Park of the Tsambagarav Mountain 
Tsambagarav Uul (the altitude 4202m) is one of the most beautiful snowcapped mountains in Mongolia. It is just on the junction of three western aimags – provinces: Bayan-Ulgii, Uvs and Khovd. We will see the beautiful snowcapped peaks, rocky valleys and crystal clear springs. We visit the nomadic Kazakh and Uriankhai (western Mongolian ethnic groups) families. They are also reputed for their great hospitality.

Day 9-11. Horse riding  
From north-west side of the Tsambagarav Uul, we will hike to snow caps of the mountain as close as possible. From the east side of Tsambagarav Uul we trek throughout the narrow canyon, there are also good fishing spots. Meet the Kazakh eagle hunter family, training his Golden Eagle. We will also see the biggest Turkic carved stone in Western Mongolia in a scenic landscape.

Day 12. Lake Bayan-Nuur 
Today we ride horses in the beautiful rocky red mountains valley. You will see the snow capped Altai Mountains on your horizon. At the end of day, we reach the Lake Bayan-Nuur. Our vehicles and drivers wait for us in that place. Overnight at the banks of the lake.

Day 13. Drive to Ulgii 
Morning drive to Ulgii. Free afternoon. You can visit the local sights: local market “bazaar”, a mosque. Kazakh concert with traditional songs and music in the evening in the guesthouse.

Day 14. Flight to Ulan-Bator 
Transfer to the airport and fly to UB approx.4hrs. Arrival to UB, transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon.

Day 15. Ulan-Bator 
Visit of the city, museums, or other sites (National Park of Terelj Gorkhi/others). Overnight in the hotel.

Day 16. Flight out of Mongolia 
Transfer to the airport/railway station.
